Performance Improvement of Solar Desalination System Based on CeO2-MWCNT Hybrid Nanofluid

There is a scarcity of freshwater resources and their quality deteriorating. As result, meeting human needs getting more challenging. Additionally, significant health problems are brought on by shortage freshwater. Therefore, finding sustainable alternative technique for producing clean water necessary. Solar distillation one the methods that can be implemented to enhance overall production pure water. In this work, hybrid nanofluid was prepared using two-step method with cerium oxide (CeO2) nanoparticles multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) in ratio 80:20. The concentrations nanofluids investigated were 0.02%, 0.04%, 0.06%. surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) used keep stable. studies carried out over three days both conventional modified stills at constant depth 1 cm nanofluid. still (MS) achieved maximum 1430 mL compared still’s (CS) output 920 mL. CPL (Cost per liter) MS USD 0.039, CS, it 0.045. levels TDS CS 96.38% 92.55% lower than those saline fluoride ion level 0.635 mg/L, whereas distilled 0.339 mg/L 0.414 respectively.
